GOP Presidential Mess? Yes. But hope to come.

-Deep Breath-

Well...

I don't know who else felt like they were watching a bunch of immature children fighting tonight, but I thought candidates for the President of the United States were supposed to be concerned with the issues at hand, not worry about little things that don't matter. An American President has to be made of passion, not the fake mask of it so he can have a two-term presidency. Don't get my wrong people, I'm not so naive to think that all Presidents are made of such qualities or that even 25% of them are; what I mean is that those are things Presidents ought to be made of, and it shames our country, our political system, and our frustrated voters when the majority of the candidates lack the courage to stand up for what they believe.

The debate first went south when Bachmann and Pawlenty started their verbal brawling. Rather than improve their image significantly over the other and disregard their opponent's comments, rise above it, and address the REAL issues at hand, they took the time to go back and forth with their endless insults, until Pawlenty ran out of things to say. I boggles my mind that such supposedly well educated individuals with the leadership excellence they had shown in the past could stoop down to the level of my five and six year old brothers, lashing out at one another until their enemy couldn't return a punch. Very, very juvenile, and I lost a lot of respect for them both, and, according to the polls, so did a large part of the country.

The insanity continued and Mitt Romney tap danced his way through the fiery questions aimed for him. Time and time again, Romney would be asked a fundamental and trivial question and he would repetitively give the same responses Obama did in 2007 and 2008; very vague and insignificant answers. When asked 2-3 times on his stance on gay marriage laws, Romney finally answered that he did not support same-sex marriage, but he didn't believe that it should be illegal. Is it just me, or did that not make sense?

I don't know what's wrong with the men, but Huntsman and Ron Paul were completely high.
First with Huntsman.
Was I the only one who thought he didn't make any sense, but also didn't answer any questions? I think that for about 80% of his responses, he replied with "I'm very proud with myself and the work I've shown as Governor in the past. I've shown leadership, and that's what we need in the White House!"
Sorry bro. I'm not buying that. At first it seemed like he was dancing around like Romney to preserve his image. After all, Romney was the leading candidate. He had nothing to lose by avoiding the questions. Then I realized that I didn't even know who Huntsman was! How could a stranger protect his image? He can't. All that that man did was shoot himself in the foot, especially after calling the China-US communication ineffective, after being recognized as an ambassador to China. What an idiot. I weep for the broken mind of anyone who could vote for Huntsman. He's simply a fail.

Now, let's analyze Ron Paul.
I'm not going to lie, I really liked him for a while there! Then we got into the discussion on Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. Somehow, the old Texan thought that wasn't an issue at all, comparing the threat to the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba, you know, the US dealt with them and we're fine. Iran will be the same way.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How old is this guy? Old enough to be senile? Think, sir, it's a little more than that. Do realize that the Cold War was a major epidemic in our country and rippled panic throughout the nation for years. Even if Iran doesn't fire, like the Soviet Union, the stress levels will drive America to insanity, not to mention Israel. The President of Iran has repeatedly stated that he wants to destroy Israel, and he doesn't care about who tries to stop him, whether it be the United States, Great Britain, or anyone else. So now where does that put us, Congressman Paul? If Iran decides to nuke Israel, I'm sure we'll get involved. According to Iran, they have no problem blasting through our chest if it means they'll hit Israel in the end. We're not only looking at losing a dear ally, but also going to war, and not like we're at right now. This would be an awful war filled with nuclear weapons and horrors that may lead to our own shores. I don't mean to sound paranoid or anything, cause it's not at all far fetched.
Stop being so naive, Ron Paul. Men that are aware of world news run for President.

So who do we have left? I've already criticized Bachmann, Pawlenty, Romney, Huntsman, and Paul, so that leaves me Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain.

Rick Santorum, all in all, did a pretty decent job. He wasn't afraid to answer the questions and he had a lot of passion, too much, I think. When the panel failed to take the time to direct questions toward him, Santorum began to become frustrated, and I think at one point he actually requested a question. Later, when he and Ron Paul were debating foreign policy, he was cut short and, in frustration, continually spoke while Ron Paul was giving his views and opinions. I think Santorum is a great guy and he has good ideas, and I think he was much more logical than Ron Paul, and I wouldn't mind him being in the White House, but I think he needs to learn to control his passion before it turns into anger and he loses his sense of etiquette on national television. Good man, good candidate, but he wasn't too hot tonight.

Newt, on the other hand, was on fire. Every question, even the extremely hard ones, he nailed. Every time he opened his mouth, he continued to sweep people off their feet. I think he'd be a fantastic President; he's smart, he's focused, and he's determined. Unfortunately, he's also behind in the race. His campaign is largely in debt and he doesn't have his foot in the door as well as the other candidates, but if he can pull the rest of the debates in his favor like he has tonight, he may indeed have a chance.

Today I've saved the best for last, at least in my opinion. If you have a Facebook or Twitter and you've looked at my profile recently, you know I love Herman Cain. After tonight, I only like him more. He didn't receive a lot of questions, for whatever reason, but the ones he did answer were very well said. He spoke with conviction and passion, and he stood with the confidence of a man who knew how to use leadership to turn around an economy. Cain did a fantastic job, and he's still my definite favorite. I'm also happy to say that according to Fox News' polls, the general public said he did best out of all the candidates tonight with a percentage well into the 80s. Despite the discouragement from some candidates, I see a hope on board the Cain Train. I'll continue to campaign for him until the election next year.

All in all, the debate was decent. At worst, it was informing. At best, it was refreshing and hopeful to see Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain stand strong before America. We need a leader, and I believe that our hope lies in one of these two men. In any case, I encourage anyone and everyone who reads this to stay informed on the issues and actively campaign for a new President. Our nation is falling apart while candidates of the same party attack each other on national television. We need a solution now.

For me, that's Herman Cain

Guess Who's Back?

Me.

I know. I'm gone for a year, expected never to return, not to mention that I've never been a very diligent blogger.  I'm sure that of my current eight followers, only two of you are even going to pay attention to me, but that's fine. I'm back to have fun.

So here's what I'm thinking.

I'm going to be posting about once a week. It may be more than that, and it may be less. I refuse to limit this blog to one themed topic, because my mind can't handle those kind of constraints. You may be seeing a critical analysis of our corrupt Judicial system one day and the very next a short video on why I love chocolate chip cookies. Expect anything.

I've never tried doing this part, but I'm going to try to put my YouTube channel to work. I'll be uploading a video once a month. Please, don't expect much. I've never been in any kind of video-making class or tutorial in my life. I promise the first few videos will be horrible, but hopefully they'll improve over the months!

I'm going to try my hand at photography again. I know that's like a big trend with all the blog/facebook people, or anyone who actually uses the internet. I'll probably be posting a "photo of the week" from the shots I take any given week. Don't hold me to that too solidly though, I will miss many weeks. I promise. Everything I plan on doing here is just for fun, not for any recognition from anyone. I'm writing this to you, but I may not have anyone read this post for a long time! That's okay, because if I post on here again anytime soon, I'll feed accomplished.

In my year long break from Blogger, they've provided new features on this little site. Apparently I can fire off a short text or picture and it'll post it on here! I'll definitely be putting that to work with funny pictures I see and quotes my friends say. Again, expect anything.

Every now and then, I'm going to post a rant on my future. If you want, just skip over it. I'll probably change my mind on half the things I say, but it's fun to dream and share dreams.

Anyway, That's my current plan. Who knows how this blog will look in 2-3 months, but hey, it's worth a shot, right?

Like the new layout? You better. I spent over an hour designing it.

I'm looking forward to this.

PS. I'll use my twitter to post on my blog, so feel free to follow me there @DewesFail.

I'm so Lost...

You know how when drug addicts and/or alcoholics have MAJOR problems when they're busted and have their addiction taken away?

That's how I feel.

For those of you who know me, no, it's not the soda, my addiction with that is doing just fine. However, my favorite TV show, Lost, is over. And i mean... over. The series finale was on Sunday, and even though it was AMAZING, I hate the fact that it's the last one. Just because I haven't posted if forever, I'm gonna go through a couple of my favorite characters. Also, if you haven't finished this show yet.. DON'T READ THIS. It's got some major major major spoilers..

DESMOND HUME

Desmond is a great character, and he came on the scene in Season Two and, despite how crazy it sounds, he pushes a button every 180 minutes that saves the world. However, since he's been doing it for 3 years, he's a little crazy. After destroying "the hatch," he gains the power to randomly see into the future and see what's going to happen. He uses this to save Charlie's life multiple times. Eventually Desmond leaves the island, when he is reunited with the love of his life, Penelope Widmore, the daughter of Charles Widmore. They have a son, and Desmond names him Charlie in honor of Charlie Pace. Unfortunately, he is soon brought back to the island by Charles Widmore. After Widmore is murdered by Benjamin Linus, Desmond  does what "Locke" tells him to and removes a sort of cork from the island's core, thereby making the entire place unstable. Jack kills "Locke" and then saves Desmond's life before stabilizing island again.

CHARLIE PACE

Charlie is probably my favorite character in the series. When he crashed on Oceanic flight 815 on the island, he was a Heroin addict. However, with the help of John Locke, he overcame that obstacle. Before crashing, Charlie was the bass player for a band called DriveShaft. Once on the island though, he fell into a romantic relationship with Claire Littleton, who gave birth to Aaron on the island. Charlie, having a great heart and always trying to help everyone, became a sort of father to Aaron. In Season 3, Charlie realizes that in order to get everyone off the island, namely Claire and Aaron, he has to complete a suicide mission. He goes to an underwater station that is blocking communication to and from the island, disables it, and drowns. When Desmond, who had accompanied him on the mission, returns to the island, he tells Hurley (Hugo Reyes) what happened to Charlie, who in turn tells the heartbroken Claire. In essence, Charlie was a man who always tried to do the things that helped other people most, and ended up giving up his life for those on the island.

HURLEY (HUGO REYES)

Hurley doesn't change much throughout the show. He, similar to Charlie, has a heart for helping people. However, he always look on the bright side and tries to have fun. At one point in time, he even goes through the trouble of building an actual golf course on the island! He goes through difficult times on the island, first losing his girfriend, Libby to a bullet wound, and then Charlie, his best friend. In Season 6 he fills the role of "caretaker" of the island when Jack realizes that he's going to die. Along with the help of Benjamin Linus, he helps the other people leave the island.

SAWYER (JAMES FORD)

Sawyer is a rough life character who, as a child, witnessed his parents' deaths after they were conned out of most of their money. He held the grudge his whole life until finally he murdered the man responsible, Anthony Cooper. He fell in love with Juliet Burke in Season 5 until her tragic death in Season 6. Sawyer was loyal to his friends to the bitter end, and didn't allow himself or his friends to be taken advantage of. He provided both humor and a great sense of security to the entire show.

JOHN LOCKE

John Locke is a troubled soul. Years before crashing on the island, he was conned multiple times by his own long lost father, Anthony Cooper. Throughout the series, Locke tries to persuade Jack into what 'he needs to do' and 'what he's supposed to do.' Lock is a firm believer in fate and is convinced that the island has a mind of its own. Eventually, Locke dies in order to convince the "Oceanic Six" to return to the island. When his own dead body returns to the island, "The Smoke Monster" possesses it and poses himself as Locke, though the real John Locke is dead.

KATE AUSTIN

Kate, like Hurley and Charlie, shows extreme care in the issues of other people and often places her own safety on the line for another's well- being. When she arrived on the island, she was a criminal convicted of murdering her father-in-law, who was abusive to her mother. When Jack found out, he told her that everyone deserved a fresh start on the island, and she was even released of her charges in the real world. Throughout the show, she finds herself in a love battle between Sawyer and Jack, but in the end she chooses Jack. Kate is a character who provides a large amount of emotion to the show, both in a sad way, but also in a way where the viewer feels a need to do something, rather than let the events sort themselves out. That's the sort of character that Kate is.

JACK SHEPHARD

Jack was a surgeon prior to the crash, and is set up as the sort of "leader" of all those who crashed. He always feels the need to "fix" things, and when he fails it devastates him. In the final season, he takes Jacob's place as the caretaker of the island. However, after being wounded in a fight to the death with the supposed "Locke," Jack sacrifices his life to save the remaining survivors and even the island itself. In essence, he was the main character of the show.

Okay, so that's it. See, you learn something new every day! Anyway, if you have Netflix I would HIGHLY reccommend this show. It's amazing.

Thanks for reading..

April. I'm soooo behind.

So, you smart people have figured something out: I like.. never post anything. Once every few months. maybe. I'm so tired, and I really don't want to be posting right now, but I feel the urge, so I am. Anyways, you made me very happy just now: I have 8 followers! I'm not sure what it means, but I feel good. Anyways, I am alive, my life still switches between "suck" and "win" very quickly. email/ text me, I have something I want to tell you.

Goodnight, my love.

December 31st, 2009.. Oh well.

Today is the last day.

of 2009. Then comes 2010. great. cool. blah. Who cares? All that happens is we get to sit around with friends/family and celebrate how another day the same as yesterday is coming.. and that's supposed to be important? I don't get it personally. "Happy New Year!!" You'll probably hear that a couple hundred times today. What does it imply? "Congradulations, you get a new start. Try to make the 365 overall good. Then you can... do it again." Thrilling, really. Okay, so don't get me wrong, I like celebrating stuff. I like sitting around with friends and family. But here's my point: if you're gonna do this "happy new year" thing, make it what it needs to be. Make the next 365 days something you can be proud of. Make them count. Start creating a legacy of your own, starting now, then carry it on throughout the next year. and the next. and so on and so on.. Again, don't misunderstand me. Don't make a list of things to do as your "new years resolution" because everyone knows that it's not going to last much more than a week. Dedicate yourself to what you love and protect it. Care for it. Make this year count. Don't just make it "another year" or look forward to this one just because 2009 sucked. Maybe it did, and maybe you really just want your fresh start, but even if you are, make. it. count. Do something! Don't just watch the news channel as the lights in New York City flash really bright and people are kissing in the streets. Make this year glorious. Carpe Diem: Sieze the day

Today is a new Day!!! and it's 11:39 pm...

Okay, I'm sorry. having a blog and never posting.... is.. well.. stupid. so i'm done with that. I'm tired, but i'm gonna try to include some things that have been happening since... September. Jeez.. a long time. Well, first off: I'm sixteen! yeah wooh. big whoop. turns out all the guys get ripped off here. I was informed that only girls get "sweet sixteens" and for the rest of us heterosexual men, we march on to the next significant age: 18. Darn. I guess something else... hmm.. well, I was in a play! It was called "Everything is not Enough" and it totally rocked. I'll post some pictures.. someday. No, not in forever, like.. tomorrow or something. Anyways, I had a small role as a cop and only had a few lines but it opened me up to NCTC and I LOVE IT! Unfortunately, due to the curse of school (cuse you!) I'm to busy to do anymore until Summer. Darn. Number 3: okay.. this is getting hard. I suppose this means my life is boring.. OH. okay, well going back to my previous post: The Song. Okay... so... it's not done. I guess it'll probably be a 2010 hit. :P sorry music fans. I procrastinate sometimes. and sometimes I just run low on the music thoughtfulness stuff required for songwriting. Speaking of songs, I have two more pieces of information!! I bought a keyboard on Black Friday. I recorded a song by Kyle Hersey for the play ABOUT the play. Obviously, the song name is the same as the play. "Everything is not Enough" It's not done mixing, the dude is having trouble but I have a raw phone file of us practicing it and it's pretty good quality. I'll see what it takes to get it on here. soon. So... lastly, I went to Cincinatti for an awesome "Sufficiency of Scripture" conference.. but I'm tired so if you really really want to know about it.. email me. Goodnight, my love. (I have no idea whysoever I am posting this romantic term.. but I feel the urge.)
